LADY LIKE - Stylight Competition

I hope you're all having a relaxing and enjoyable holiday season. But unlike other blogs, I don't want to harp on about 'what I got' or 'what I wore', instead I want to share with you a classic- very lady-like- outfit perfect for any season.

Now, every girl needs an LBD- and not one that can only be worn to the sleaziest of nightclubs. It will become your closet saviour every time you ask 'what should I wear'. It should be comfortable, modest (enough), have a classic (enough) style and a flattering cut on you. And while the LBD is great by itself, it serves as the perfect backdrop for feature pieces like this scarf. (Side note: Remember that a simple square scarf can be worn multiple ways, so why not try something different like this over the shoulders, or- if you're fashion brave- turn it into a turban).

WHITE COLLAR

I don't wear a lot of white. It's often difficult, impractical, and scary. I know the 'all white' outfit is often left to the beautiful tanned goddesses of the fashion world, but I figured I'd try hand at it again. Even if my skin did somewhat camouflage in with my outfit...

POP OF CROP - Stylight Competition

Unless you have been turning a blind eye to all things fashion for the past year, you would know crop tops are a big thing (despite their undeniably small nature). It seems like every girl and her best friend has one, or two, or three. Don't get me wrong, I love to dabble in trends, and pure popularity won't make me stop trying one. My biggest concern about the crop top was how to keep it classy (ish) and respectable.

We all know (and most often follow) the rules of modesty. It's legs out or chest on display- never both. But where does the mighty mid-rift come in this equation? A question no-one, it seems, has had to ponder since the mid 90s, though a question to which I think I've found the answer. It's simple- just add sleeves. The best way to get your crop top the seal of modesty is to go for one with sleeves- short or long, or as I have gone, somewhere in between.

THE STONES - Stylight Competition

This is my third and final 'sporty' look for the Stylight blogger competition (the next theme will be announced soon). I have very little to say on this look. I am addicted to these MLM t-shirts. So comfy. So classic. And you get to rep some of your favourite celebrities. Pop on some denim shorts and sneakers. And that's my take on a 'sportsluxe' look. (If you can't tell, I'm not very sporty.)

Vote for / 'heart' this look here: stylight.com.au/izzybea/thestones

And if you haven't already, I would love it if you could please heart for my other entries here and here- they all add up!
Thanks everyone.

TO THE STREETS - Stylight Competition

This is my second 'sporty' look for the Stylight blogger competition. (If you're wondering what it is, check out my previous post here.)
Something a little more practical than a dress, like that in my first look. Though still with a feminine, lacy flair. Black and white has definitely been an encroaching trend in my wardrobe this year. But it's refreshing to give an unexpected burst of colour to break from the monotonous monochrome.

And if you haven't already, you can also still vote for my first look HERE!
The competition is judged on total number of 'hearts' per theme- This fortnight's theme is 'sporty'.
I really appreciate every single 'heart.' Thank you!

RACING STRIPES - Stylight Competition

As some of you who are in tune with the fashionblogosphere are probably well aware STYLIGHT has recently launched in Australia. And so to celebrate they're having a blogger competition, which I was lucky enough to be included in.

Heres the deal:
Each fortnight we (20 bloggers) are given a theme to guide our outfits that we post on Stylight- this week its #sporty. The blogger with the most 'hearts' (equivalent to 'likes' on other sites) on all their sporty outfits wins $200 for that theme. Pretty simple.

What I would love for you to do is sign up to Stylight if you already haven't and 'heart' my looks. That's it. And I will follow and 'heart' you back of course!

I'll keep you updated here on all my looks and provide you with links to them. It would really mean a lot for you to get involved. Even outside of this competition Stylight is a great place to discover new bloggers, find fashion inspiration- it can even help you purchase the looks that you love.

PALM SPRINGS

So it is Spring. And I have palm trees on my dress. Glad I got the title of the post explanation out of the way so early, now I can talk about Summer and how it is upon us. Now I'm not a person that has huge emotional ties to a season. But for whatever reason, I have been craving some Summer this year. I realised this mid-Winter, when I opened my wardrobe to discover a tonne of flirty dresses and playsuits, and a lone pair of trousers.

One such dress that has been hoarded away until recently is this. A bright print twist on the humble t-shirt dress. It's no secret that I love a t-shirt dress (check out my past posts- in fact I have a similar dress from last year, and it's from the same brand here), so expect a unintentional series on them this season. So I guess all I'm really trying to say is 'Hooray for Summer!'

WITHOUT WARNING

Another attempt of shuffling my wardrobe. Trying different pieces together. Creating something out of the ordinary. I'll admit, this isn't probably something I'll wear again. Perhaps it's a little too eclectic for my taste. Nonetheless, what's important is that I tried something unusual- without warning, just on a whim. It would be unreasonable to expect every change to be good, in fashion and in life. But you'll never know what could happen unless you take that initial step. And besides, tomorrow is another outfit. Another chance to try something new.

CROSSING BOUNDARIES

What to wear when you have no idea what to wear... If you're anything like me, something like this is generally the result. You want to be comfortable, hence t-shirt. Yet feminine, hence high heels. While having something totally out of left field, hence palazzo pants (especially in baby blue). It's easy to fall for a 'go to' look when times (or your laundry pile) are desperate. But I encourage you to not reach for that dress, or those shorts. Instead, be a little daring with your choices. Be a little unusual. After all, an outfit is not forever, it's only one day. So why not test the fashion boundaries- and maybe even cross a few.
