LONELY ROAD (ASOS State of Fashion)

You ready Australia? It's a State against State (and Territory) style off! ASOS Australia wants to see how you do winter in your state. All you have to do is upload a picture of you wearing your typical winter style for the chance to win a sweet $1000 ASOS wardrobe. I was lucky enough to be asked to help kick off the competition for Queensland. Head on over here to check out all that QLD has to offer, and while you're there why not throw a vote my way. Good luck and may the best state (obviously QLD) win.

IDLE BLUES

Shoes make an outfit. They dictate where you can go and what you can do in an outfit. A simple change of shoes can transform a 'day' look into an 'evening' one. This outfit is stand alone proof of the power of the shoe. To kick back wearing a pair of Havaianas (thongs or flip flops, whatever you call them where you're from), this outfit would look far too 'schlub' to be seen outside the house. I may as well just wallow around the house all day, entertain my idle blues and watch re-runs of 90s sitcoms. But wear a pair of heels and it's a whole other story... Never underestimate the power of the shoe.

LUNA ILLUSION

Effortless and extraordinary. Those are things I look for in clothes. When those two things combine, what you have is an unforgettable outfit (the right kind of unforgettable). At least in my own bias opinion, this is one of those outfits. No accessories. Two pieces. Each effortless. Each extraordinary.

My much loved crop top. Easy enough to wear. What kind of crop top isn't? Though still has enough length to not be trashy and tasteless. And of course my favourite part. It's silver leather. Metallic and leather. Drool. Then my shorts. Super simple elastic pull ups. Adding a light trim makes a world of difference when it comes to style. (Please do more of this designers/manufacturers.) And the print. Triangle and watercolours. Brilliant.

Oh, and something equally brilliant. What a marvellous coincidence it was to find graffiti the same colours as the print on my shorts. And a round window (that kind of looks like the moon). There's definitely not enough round windows in the world.

REFINED FAITH

There's just something about a floral dress and a pair of oxfords that makes me feel so... wholesome. Of course that feeling is probably equally owing to the location. I wouldn't dare wear anything more risqué in such close proximity to a church.  (Nothing says 'church' more like gothic arches.) While this type of refined, understated dressing is by no means my regular attire, I do enjoy it from time to time. After all, every girl should have an outfit that their mother would be proud of.

PASTEL BLAZE (with video)

So I told you (in this post), that I had some new, exciting, possibly even radical (yes I'm from the 90s) things coming up for my blog. It might have taken a lot longer than expected but it's finally here. A video. You get to see me in motion. How fancy.
Here's a little premise. A while ago, there was a fashion blogger, a makeup artist, a photographer and a videographer, who decided to combine their creative talents. One lazy afternoon, they decided to toddle into the city to shoot a few outfits with 'behind the scenes' video. This is the result.

Just a disclaimer. This is not how most of my outfit posts are shot. While I wish each looked as professional, and Eloise did my makeup every time, it's just not so. This was a fun collaborative experiment that I've been wanting to do for a while. Lucky we managed to fit in a couple that day, so there will be more video outfit posts to come. Just you wait and see.
Side note: I do apologise for my facial expressions throughout. I'm not angry or annoyed... well maybe a little bit at the sun for being so bright and glaring into my eyes.
